Every winter my clubfoot goes mental. The pain, the stiffness, the aching. Does anyone else get this?
I was treated with Ponseti as a baby (early 2000s) and my foot is generally fine but winter absolutely kills me. Any tips? Specific footwear?
Starting to dread November 🥶

YES! Thought I was the only one! My left foot (clubfoot) becomes useless in winter.
What helps:
- Heated insoles (rechargeable ones from Amazon)
- Thick merino wool socks
- Ankle rotations every morning
- Warm foot bath when I get home
I'm 23, Ponseti as a baby. Nobody warned me about the cold thing!

Same here every winter. I think blood circulation in the treated foot is slightly different? Scar tissue from tenotomy probably doesn't help.
Timberland boots in winter - good insulation and ankle support. Sheepskin-lined slippers for indoors.
I just accept winter = aching foot and plan accordingly 🥶

Cold sensitivity in the treated foot is commonly reported. Likely related to reduced calf muscle mass and altered vasculature.
Recommendations: layered thermal socks, staying active for circulation, gentle daily stretching, avoiding prolonged standing in cold.
If significantly impacting quality of life, consider referral to a foot and ankle specialist.

29 and my clubfoot hates winter. Started swimming regularly and the warm water + exercise made the biggest difference. Foot is noticeably less painful on swim days.
Also hot water bottles on the foot while watching TV. Simple but effective 😂
