Bar length measurement - is ours right?

Quick question - how do you know if the bar length is correct? Our bar seems really wide and baby's legs are splayed out quite far. She looks uncomfortable.

Orthotist measured shoulder width but I've seen people say it should be wider? Narrower?

Confused mum here 🤷‍♀️

Should be shoulder width - measure between outside of shoulders. It does look wide! Our daughter looked like a frog at first 😂

If it looks too wide go back to orthotist for a check. Incorrect sizing can cause problems.

Correct width is shoulder-width, outside to outside. Can look quite wide on a small baby but necessary for correct abduction angle (60-70 degrees for treated foot).

If unsure, request a review. Incorrect bar length can compromise correction. Babies often look uncomfortable initially - that's adjustment not sizing.

ours looked SO wide too and i was convinced it was wrong. orthotist confirmed it was correct. babies just have wide shoulders relative to their legs 😅

if in doubt go back - peace of mind is worth the trip!
