Help! Its 10pm and I think my babys cast has slipped. I can see her toes have gone further inside and the top near her knee seems loose. Shes not crying but it doesnt look right compared to this morning.

Do I call the ward now or wait til morning? I don't want to be "that mum" who panics 😰

If you can see her toes disappearing inside the cast I'd ring the ward now. They have an on-call number. A slipped cast can affect the correction and they'll probably want to recast.

Better to be "that mum" than to leave it!! 💙

Call them!! This happened to us and they got us in first thing next morning to recast. Really common especially in hot weather or with chunkier babies 😂

Don't feel bad - thats literally what they're there for x

Definitely contact the team. A slipped cast is not an emergency but should be assessed within 24 hours. Don't try to adjust or remove it yourself.

Signs needing URGENT attention: blue/pale/swollen toes, obvious distress, complete loss of toe visibility, fever.

Otherwise morning appointment should be fine. You're doing the right thing 👍

another vote for calling! you are NOT "that mum" - youre a good mum who noticed something wasnt right. big difference.

ours slipped once and they recasted same day, no drama at all.
