Dating with clubfoot - when do you tell someone?

OK this is awkward but I need to talk about it somewhere lol

I'm 22 and seeing someone new. At what point do you bring up clubfoot? My foot looks different and my leg is thinner. First time they see me in shorts it'll be obvious.

I've had bad reactions before and it knocked my confidence. How do you handle this? 😬

I mention it early on, casually. Like if we're walking somewhere and my foot starts aching I'll just say "sorry, my clubfoot is playing up." It opens the conversation naturally without making it A Big Thing.

Most people are curious rather than put off. And honestly? Anyone who has a problem with it isn't someone you want to be with.

My boyfriend now says he genuinely doesn't notice my leg difference. I believe him because he trips over my shoes equally 😂💙

I used to AGONISE over this. When do I tell them? How? What if they're disgusted?

Then I realised - it's a foot. It works. It looks slightly different. If someone can't handle that, imagine how they'd handle anything actually serious in a relationship.

I bring it up whenever it comes up naturally. No big reveal needed. Just "oh yeah I was born with a clubfoot, that's why my leg looks like this." Done.

The right person won't care. Promise 💙

22M here and went through this recently. I brought it up on the third date when she noticed I was limping slightly (long day on my feet).

Her response? "That's pretty badass actually."

We've been together 8 months now 😊

Don't overthink it. The vast majority of people are understanding. The ones who aren't are doing you a favour by showing you who they are early.

my wife didn't know about my clubfoot until we'd been dating for 3 months because I always wore long trousers 😂 when she found out she was literally like "oh, ok" and changed the subject. I'd built it up SO much bigger in my head than it actually was.

you'll be fine. the right person truly does not care about your foot 💙
