Does anyone else get constant unwanted opinions about treatment??

My MIL keeps saying "in her day they just put special shoes on". My mum won't stop googling horror stories. My uncle (NOT a doctor btw) says we should try physio instead.

I trust our consultant but its exhausting defending our choices at every gathering. How do you handle this?

My FIL keeps telling us to "just massage the foot" ๐Ÿ™ƒ I've started sending people the STEPS website and saying "this is evidence-based treatment. If you'd like to discuss further please read this first." Usually shuts them up ๐Ÿ˜‚

Nobody would tell a cancer patient to try essential oils so why do people think they know better than orthopaedic surgeons?!

My mum literally said "cant they just bend it the right way?" ๐Ÿ™ƒ๐Ÿ™ƒ๐Ÿ™ƒ

I've given up explaining. Smile, nod, do what the consultant says. Your baby, your decision. Nobody else gets a vote x

I made a little info sheet about Ponseti and sent it to family in a group chat. "This is what's happening, this is why, we'd appreciate support rather than alternative suggestions."

Most people genuinely don't know what clubfoot is. Education helped a lot.

For the stubborn ones... wine helps ๐Ÿท๐Ÿ˜‚

the horror stories google thing is SO relatable. my mum sent me an article about casting gone wrong in the 1970s. MUM. STOP. ๐Ÿ™ˆ

had to tell her sending scary articles was making my anxiety worse and if she wanted to help she could cook me dinner instead. she got the hint ๐Ÿ˜‚
