Weve just had cast number 7 put on and the foot still isnt fully corrected. Consultant says maybe 2-3 more. I've read most babies need 5-6 casts and now im panicking.
Is 7+ casts unusual? Should I be worried?

My son had 8 casts! His clubfoot was "complex" but correction was still achieved without surgery. Every foot is different. 5-6 is average but 7-10 is not unusual at all.
Trust your consultant - if they say 2-3 more they're seeing progress 💙

We had 9 casts! I panicked too but our consultant was completely relaxed. He said he'd rather do more casts and get perfect correction than rush it.
The result? Perfect foot. No surgery. Worth every extra week.

Cast numbers vary considerably - typical 4-8 but some need 10-12. This is well within expected parameters. What matters is progressive correction at each change, not the total number.
Additional casts are always preferable to premature surgery. Try not to compare - each clubfoot is unique 👍
