Transitioning from 23 hours to nights only - nervous!

Consultant said we can drop to nights and naps only (from 23 hours). I should be happy but I'm actually really anxious??

What if the correction slips? How quickly would we notice relapse? Anyone else feel nervous about this milestone?

Also - do babies struggle with the bar at bedtime after being free during the day? 😬

We dropped to nights 3 months ago and it was actually fine! Baby barely noticed. She was already active during the day so brace off just meant more freedom to crawl.

First bedtime back in brace after a day of freedom was rough though 😂 About 3 nights of fussing then back to normal.

You'd notice relapse - foot visibly turning in. Don't spend the whole time checking like I did 🙈

The anxiety about dropping hours is SO real. I actually kept the brace on an extra month because I was too scared to reduce! Consultant gently told me off 😂

The correction is stable by this point. The brace is maintaining, not correcting. Your child's foot isn't going to suddenly relapse overnight.

Nappy changes without the bar are AMAZING 🙌

The transition is an exciting milestone! If your consultant says it's time, the correction is stable. Signs of relapse would develop gradually, not overnight.

Continued night-time compliance is essential until age 4-5. This is where most relapses occur - from brace discontinuation, not from reduced hours.

Well done on reaching this stage! 🎉
